What is Vive Nuquí?
Vive Nuquí is a project created with the aim that many people on the planet get to know this beautiful place through the local people. Many of them have been working to receive travelers and to make their territory known to them. For many years tourism was led by outsiders but, over time, the Nuquí communities have prepared themselves to make available many interesting tourism offerings. Unfortunately, they have not had strong communication strategies to spread their leadership. One of the reasons is that there is a weak telephone signal and little internet coverage in the area. This web portal focuses on publicizing cultural tourism initiatives that the local people currently offer to national and foreign travelers. It is aimed at travelers looking for destinations that connect them with nature, not only on a physical level, but also on an emotional level. These destinations provide enriching experiences for their travels that bring well-being and also inspiration, beauty, connection, joy, fulfillment, happiness and culture to their lives.
In Vive Nuquí you can learn about cultural tourism experiences through videos, photographs, reviews and a section with general information on how to get there, where to stay, etc. So far, we have worked on four cultural tourism experiences, organized as follows: Gastronomy: "A recipe with Cruz Mélida", Adventure: "A surf course with Tello", Wisdom: "A river walk through Joví", Fishing: "Fishing with Pedro González". We hope to add more content in the short term. Supporting these initiatives contributes to the local economy and to the preservation of the cultural values of these communities. If their activities are sustainable, the youth of these communities will be able to stay in their territories. This area has also been a victim of the Colombian conflict; many young people have left their homes to seek a better future in the cities. If we can support local tourism initiatives, we will strengthen the economy of these communities and contribute to improving their living conditions and development. We welcome you to get to know the heart of this wonderful place.
